Are you looking for a new way to generate leads and acquire new customers? Look no further. An interactive, online quiz could be your next best marketing tool.
Getting leads to can to even consider your product or service can often be tough, and any good sales plan/funnel starts with intrigue. So how do you get people to make to take that first step of engaging with your business? Many are choosing lead magnets like e-books that give the lead just enough information to help but so much that they lose interest in what you have to offer. However, creating an e-book is a lot of work for some. That is where quizzes can come in handy.
Let’s face it, who can resist sinking their teeth into a cool, juicy quiz?Quizzes are one of my favourite types of lead-magnet tools to use. They are fun and engaging for the user and can be simple to set up and share. If paired with a concise strategy, it can be an ingenious way to attract new customers and make a smooth sale.
So, what is the secret sauce behind quizzes. Here are 5 Steps to Create a Quiz Lead Magnet so you can grow your following and attract your ideal client.
1. Ensure that your quiz aligns with the service or product you are offering.
Before you get started, you must be mindful about selecting the right question relevant to your service offerings. This is important because choosing the wrong one will result in failing to attract your ideal client and be pointless in the long run for lead generation.
Start at the end, what service or product are you trying to promote? Once you have established that, you can decide your quiz’s topic. If you are an accountant, your quiz could be about testing the respondents understanding of tax law. If you own
2. Pick a clickable title.
It is essential to be able to grab your readers interest with the title or call-to-action. It needs to state precisely what your quiz is about and offer the promise of a solution.
Say you are an interior designer, a great quiz would be “Which design type are you?” Interested leads will click, and as a bonus, you will find out whether this person has a similar taste as you. It is a win/win.
Starting your call-to-action with the words “which”, “what” or “find out” is a good plan. Think about the times you have come across an online quiz and what made you make that split decision to engage. Short, sharp and clear is the best plan here.

3. Create questions that engage.
Keep your readers captivated throughout your quiz by creating questions that hold their interest and ensure that they finish the quiz. We do not want them exiting halfway because they have lost interest.
Be sure to keep questions short and punchy and directly to the point, as no one wants to read lengthy paragraphs. You can also use compelling and eye-catching images that are relatable and entertaining to your readers.
4. Do not make it too hard!
If it’s too hard or involves a lot of text answers, they will lose interest. Use a lot of yes/no or give them a list of options to choose from, and once again, include images where possible. Not only do they make your quiz look beautiful, but they can help you explain your question visually.
5. Prompt action.
Do not forget the whole point of this exercise, to generate leads. How are you going to do that? Do you want their email address? Do you want them to be sent to your website? Maybe you want them to like your social page. Either way, you need to figure out how to make that happen at some point and try to automate that.
I recently filled out a quiz to purchase the correct public performance license type. It was genius! It was only a couple of questions, but I have no doubt it has saved them a huge amount of time replying to email queries or incorrectly purchased license types.
For your own quiz, you might start with your action, i.e. sign up to our email list a receive our quiz via email, or you may end with it, i.e. like our Facebook Page to see future quizzes like this. There are a few places to include it.
All I recommend is to be open about your intentions. Don’t make people fill out your quiz and do the whole “sign up now to receive your results”. No one likes that, and it will affect trust.
